Press Release

Magen H Gallery, in collaboration with Galerie Lefebvre et Fils (Paris), is pleased to present Half Moon / Solar Day, a poetic installation of new works by Florentine & Alexandre Lamarche-Ovize, on view by appointment from November 4 through December 5, 2025, within the domestic setting of Hugues Magen’s Tribeca loft. The exhibition features spatial design and scenography by Gabriella Asfar.

The works gathered for Half Moon / Solar Day form a constellation of forms: furniture, sculptures, and tapestries that seem to oscillate between the earthly and the celestial. Lamarche-Ovize’s ceramics unfold like drawings in three dimensions: their surfaces are alive with gesture, rhythm, and quiet emotion. Each piece carries a sense of motion — of falling, rising, or turning, echoing the movement of tides, wind, and time itself. Through their distinctive visual language, the artists explore the fragile balance between gravity and grace, order and improvisation.

Installed throughout Magen’s loft, the works inhabit a space where art and daily life naturally converse. The presentation evokes the feeling of an interior in motion, at once domestic and dreamlike, where objects seem to record fragments of light, weather, and memory.

Recognized among the foremost voices in contemporary French ceramics, Florentine & Alexandre Lamarche-Ovize recently presented the acclaimed exhibition La Licorne, l’Étoile et la Lune at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris, affirming their singular approach to narrative, material, and imagination. Half Moon / Solar Day marks their first presentation with Magen H Gallery in New York.
