Feminine Forms

Magen H Gallery is pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition, Feminine Forms: An homage to women artists from 1960 to present, which will showcase a collection of works by influent female designers, sculptors, ceramists and tapestry artists from 1960 to this day.

The exhibition celebrates a carefully selected collection of historical and contemporary pieces by female artists, including works by Anne Barres, Caroline Lee, Aglae Liberaki, Luiza Miller, Marta Pan, Jeanne Kosnick-Kloss, Alice Colonieu, Denise Bigot, Ilina Horning, Annie Fourmanoir, Clementine Dupré and Natasha Dakhli.

Each through their own medium, techniques and forms, these female artists disrupted for the past sixty years a primarily masculine field by creating movement-defining pieces throughout their career. Indeed, despite the inherent differences of these works, their juxtaposition only highlights the timelessness of the forms and ideas at their genesis. Commemorating the importance of these pioneers and their works, this show presents viewers a multifold conversation weaved by female minds. Strong and bold while intricate and subtle, the pieces on display will propose a broader landscape of postwar and contemporary forms and, hopefully, offer a better appreciation of their quintessential value in today’s and tomorrow’s art & design history.

The exhibition will open on Wednesday, September 21st, 2022, with an opening reception from 4pm to 8pm, and will be on view until Friday, October 14th, 2022.
