Step into an extraordinary world of design as Magen H Gallery presents 14 Boulevard de l'Hopital, a deeply personal and immersive homage to Nicole Chapo's legendary Parisian gallery, featuring an exclusive debut collection from Yves Salomon x Chapo Creation. Running from November 8th to December 20th, 2024, this exhibition invites you to experience a rich dialogue between past and present, in a setting that promises to envelop you in warmth, intimacy, and inspiration.

Inspired by Nicole Chapo’s original 1960s gallery at 14 Boulevard de l'Hôpital in Paris, this exhibition reimagines the cozy, welcoming atmosphere that made the space so iconic during the 1960s and 1970s. A place where timeless design and modern luxury come together, 14 Boulevard de l'Hopital recreates the essence of that intimate showroom, where legendary figures like Pierre Chapo, Charlotte Perriand, Serge Mouille, Isamu Noguchi, and the La Borne ceramicists left their indelible mark on the world of art and design.

At the heart of the exhibition is an exclusive collection of 11 limited-edition pieces from the Yves Salomon x Chapo Creation collaboration, making its U.S. debut. These new designs reinterpret Pierre Chapo's enduring craftsmanship, with the luxurious addition of Yves Salomon's exquisite handmade upholsteries. Recognized as an exclusive luxury French fashion brand, Yves Salomon has reimagined five of Chapo’s iconic pieces, highlighting their shared dedication to craftsmanship and excellence. Known for its expertise in natural materials and collaborations with top fashion houses, Yves Salomon has expanded into ready-to-wear, incorporating upcycling and innovative techniques. This collaboration marks the brand’s first step into interior design, using upcycled shearling to dress Chapo’s furniture. Each piece merges timeless elegance with modern refinement, blending heritage and contemporary style. The exhibition, featuring both vintage and new creations, stands as a tribute to Pierre and Nicole Chapo’s enduring legacy in shaping modern design.

The gallery itself will be transformed into a space where design becomes personal—a warm, lived-in atmosphere that invites exploration. Paint from Ressources, designed in collaboration with Ryan Lawson, and elegant rugs by Merida will complement the furniture, ensuring that every detail enhances the feeling of being enveloped by Nicole Chapo's world, in which each piece represents a unique moment in design history, embodying the craftsmanship and vision that defined an era. It’s an exciting opportunity to not only see these iconic works interacting with each other but to step into a space that feels as if it could be your own.

Magen H Gallery invites collectors, enthusiasts, and lovers of design to experience 14 Boulevard de l'Hopital—a curated journey into the heart of mid-century innovation and contemporary luxury. This exhibition is a rare fusion of timeless design and modern touches, showcasing pieces that are as relevant and fresh today as they were in Chapo’s Parisian gallery over half a century ago.

Our Collaborators

Established in Paris for decades, Yves Salomon has been, since its inception, a trusted partner of some of the biggest fashion and haute couture Houses in the capital, who have regularly turned to the brand in search of excellence in fur work, and a timeless take on French luxury. The brand has since diversified its offering, distilling today’s trends through two ready-to-wear lines and a distinctive, unique crafting process involving upcycling and use of fur scraps reworked with innovative techniques. Like intarsia, an Yves Salomon signature technique developed within the brand’s historical workshops situated at the heart of Paris’s 10th arrondissement.

Still independently owned by the family, the Maison today dresses elegant women with an interest in responsible production and consumption, as well as sports and ski fans, proposing a complete, year-round wardrobe. Heir to a longstanding tradition that fuses creation and discretion, CEO Yves Salomon has also honed a passion for design and collecting. Now, for the first time, he is seizing the opportunity to share this interest and expertise through a furniture line signed in collaboration with Pierre Chapo, dressed up in upcycled shearling scraps.
